SEATTLE - Hackers have stepped up attacks on computers running some versions of Windows, a day after Microsoft disclosed a hole related to the mouse cursor.

Microsoft Corp. sent out a security advisory Thursday warning customers that a vulnerability in ".ani" files - used to change the cursor into an hourglass while a program works, or into a dancing animal or other animation on specially designed Web sites - was allowing hackers to break into computers and install malicious software.

You Snooze, You Lose

Want to keep pace with the competition? Forget coffee—a new class of FDA-approved stimulants will keep you working harder, better, faster and stronger!
By Thomas Hayden March 2007
As a species, we’ve hit the bedtime barrier. You can eat at your desk, socialize in the break room, and answer text messages on a date, but sooner or later, you’re going to have to sleep. “After 18, 19 hours awake, your brain function starts to fail,” says Dallas, Texas, sleep-medicine specialist Andrew O. Jamieson. Coffee might keep you up, “but you’re not going to be focused.” (more here)

So Cool....

Minority Report may have brought the concept to the public’s attention, but Jeff Han is the pioneer in the development of multi-touch screens which Apple is using on the iPhone and eventually on their computers and iPods. While we’ve had single touch screens for a long time, and while, in a sense, multi-touch isn’t that revolutionary, it’s only now that we’ve all got PCs powerful enough to use them to full effect.

Bald Britney Spears

Yes, she's a total trainwreck now. And no, her Kojak look is not what we would have recommended. But now that the deed is done, her head doesn't look that bad, does it? It's kind of edgy, in a Sinead-ripping-up-the-Pope's-picture kind of way. And her big doe eyes help her pull it off. Or maybe we just think she needs all the positive reinforcement she can get.
What do you think, better bald or not?

Time Change a ‘Mini-Y2K’ in Tech Terms...

Two years ago, when Congress passed a law to extend daylight saving time by a month, the move seemed a harmless step that would let the nation burn a little less fossil fuel and enjoy a bit more sunshine.
Representative Fred Upton, a Michigan Republican, predicted that children would rejoice at the prospect of an extra hour of daylight trick-or-treating on Halloween. But there is no rejoicing among corporate technology managers. (more here)

Daylight-Saving Time Change Could Confuse Computers Nationwide

If our alarm clock doesn't set it's self we'll be an hour behind for three weeks! One of the biggest problems for us is that our alarm clock is an "Atomic Clock" so no matter what you do it will reset it's self to the time set in Denver till it is changed there. We will see if the change where made on Sunday.

At Last!

For about the last eight months I have not been able to view any Quick Time videos that I came across on the internet? I would just get this (photo) and I called tech support with iTunes and did all they wanted but still no play! Well last night I decided I was going to post a "Call for Help" to Chris Pirillo and see if maybe he would know what the problem was? But, before I did that I would uninstall Quick Time and see if that did anything. It did, everything as far as viewing Quick Time videos and Flash videos worked great. But, iTunes didn't..... So, I reinstall a earlier version of Quick Time and everything still worked but iTunes? It said it needed 7 or higher to work. I installed Quick Time 6 first and did it using the minimal install settings and I guess when I did the 7 upgrade it kept the minimal settings and everything is still working!!!! Just have to not do any Quick Time seting changes! I'm not sure what the problem is with doing the full install but I'm not going to try it to find out!

Best Buy or NOT?

Have you ever found a deal at Best Buy's website only to travel to the store and find that the "sale" is over? Did the Best Buy employee show you "proof" on their "website"? It now seems that there are really TWO websites, and they're identical except for the prices. Here's the deal:

Hoping It's Fixed Soon!

Third-party services (e.g. Flickr, AudioBlogger, YouTube) will not work with Blogger in beta until they are updated to be compatible with Google Account logins. Update (9/11): Flickr now supports Blogger in beta. Read the Buzz post. If your blog was registered with Flickr and then moved to the beta you will need to re-register it. — latest update on Monday, September 11, 2006
AudioBlogger and Hipcast are one in the same; well I hope they are still?
